The banner picture at the top is all my men on the Appalachian Trail in 2007 (our family vacation that summer was the portion of the A.T. near Roan Mountain, along the N.C. – Tenn. border).
Though my heart’s still in Virginia, I live now in a small town outside of Charlotte, NC. A perpetual learner with 3 degrees and still discovering what I want to be when I grow up, I have been a copywriter, an English teacher (high school and college), and now an architectural interior designer who probably spends way too much time reading other people’s blogs and their recommended books, and not enough time drawing! I’ve been married for 25 years to the best gift God ever gave a woman (Larry), and we’re parents to three terrific, God-loving boys (one in high school, one in college, and one serving in campus ministry–his personal and ministry blogs are listed over there on the right –>. I am unabashedly gripped by the love and grace of Jesus Christ, and not at all ashamed to be called a member of a local body of believers. (A glance at my links over there–and probably a quick read of my posts–might lead you to believe that my faith is of the reformed variety. You might be right.)
If you’re visiting my blog but aren’t a blogger yourself, you’re possibly intimidated by the prospect of leaving a comment on one of the entries. That’s so silly! I don’t get that much public traffic, so it’s really not a lot of exposure. Just leave a comment, even just to say hello!
Grace therefore peace,
Wendy

Can’t remember how I stumbled onto your website, Wendy, but just checked out your book list. Am reading The Infidel. I’m in a book club in Waxhaw, a relatively recent thing for me, which used to sound boring to me, but has been one of the richest experiences I’ve had for sheer fun and getting to know other women. We recently did The Glass Castle, by Jeanette Walls, and ALL absolutely loved it. Great discussion.
